The Marcus Garvey Park Alliance produces public art installations, concerts, dance performances and cultural programming to activate public spaces throughout the neighborhoods of Harlem. The Alliance as it is commonly referred to works comprehensively and collaboratively to create opportunities for uptown artists, women artists and artists of color.
Originally formed as a neighborhood group to advocate for improvements to Marcus Garvey Park back in 2000, as the park became a safe space for community residents to gather the organization turned its focus to programming. With a state of the art amphitheater and under utilized open spaces nearby the Alliance now serves the community as a cultural equity partner. The images below are a sampling of the Arts & Cultural programming we bring to Marcus Garvey Park, Harlem Art Park, White Park, Eugene McCabe Field and beyond.
